A Special Gift of Remembrance & Celebration 🌹

Marlborough Provincial Rural Women New Zealand are celebrating their centennial year (1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026). As part of the celebrations, a very special rose has been created – the ‘Rural Women’ rose, described as “a decadently fragrant, soft lilac-hued cluster of blooms.”

Last week, Hospice Marlborough was honoured to receive one of these centennial roses, kindly gifted by Melva Robb, Secretary/Treasurer of the group. The rose bush has been planted in a special place within our gardens, chosen with care and meaning.

🌿 A Hospice representative shared: “The positioning of the rose bush was chosen with the idea that patients will pass it by as they arrive and as they leave us at the end of their stay. A lot of family and staff members will be walking past this rose bush as they park in our carpark each day as well. We think it’s a great place that will have a memorable impact at Hospice Marlborough.”

We are so grateful to Marlborough Provincial Rural Women for this thoughtful and lasting gift, which will bloom as a symbol of both celebration and remembrance. 💜
