We are recruiting a medical officer at an exciting time for Hospice Marlborough as we realise our new model of community care. This role provides an opportunity to learn about specialist palliative care, to mentor colleagues in the community as well as to contribute to the ever-evolving palliative needs of the Marlborough community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner from any specialty, interested in palliative care to join the team at Hospice Marlborough.  This position is a permanent role, FTE negotiable for any Nurse Practitioner from other specialties who are interested in branching out to palliative care.

As a Nurse Practitioner you will be a valued member of our interdisciplinary team (IDT) contributing to providing specialist palliative care services. This role involves assessment and management of patients with palliative care needs including the prescription of medications. You will interact with a wide range of health professionals, and using your advanced interpersonal skills will build relationships, assisting your work as part of an IDT.

We have an opportunity for a great allrounder to join the team at Hospice Marlborough.  Initially 4 hours per week, there may be opportunity for more hours as need arises.

Primarily an autonomous role, this position is responsible for processing, checking for damage, and cleaning all returned equipment from use in the community, whilst following infection control and health and safety guidelines.

In addition, other tasks may be requested and approved by either the relevant Lead or the Chief Executive, which may include other support functions as part of our succession planning, including but not limited to annual and sick leave cover. In-house mentoring for new skills will be provided where necessary. Should the postholder demonstrate compatibility and the appropriate work ethic, there may be opportunity for progression into higher level roles.
