Hospice Marlborough provides specialist palliative care across Marlborough. This critical new role is being introduced at an exciting time, as we strive to develop further our model of community care. You will be a key player in driving initiatives to enhance our brand integrity, ensuring our organisation continues to be recognised as a specialist service provider of high quality, patient and whānau focused palliative care.
Key Accountabilities are to:
· Lead the ongoing implementation of organisational and clinical quality improvements by developing frameworks and improvement programmes.
· Monitor and promote standards relating to organisational and clinical practice across hospice.
· Develop, manage and maintain Hospice Marlborough policies, procedures and frameworks.
· Lead risk management through a planned internal audit programme against external quality standards and coordinate and manage external audits.
· Manage all aspects of health, safety and wellbeing across the organisation.

Hospice Marlborough is seeking a passionate and organised Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer programme and strengthen community engagement. This pivotal role supports recruitment, training, and mobilisation of volunteers across events, retail, and clinical services—ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for everyone.
You’ll work closely with service leaders and the wider Business Services Team to drive fundraising initiatives, coordinate outreach efforts, and build lasting relationships within the community. Your work will directly support our mission to provide free, specialised palliative care across the region.

We welcome volunteers in various key service areas, including Clinical Services, Community Care, Events & Fundraising, our Hospice Shops, Administration & Reception and Ancillary Services (i.e., flower arrangement, catering, massage, art, photography, and more).

We’re seeking a dedicated volunteer to help with Furniture collection/delivery for our Redwoodtown Shops
- Must be fit and strong to help with furniture collection from people’s homes/businesses locally in Blenheim. Working alongside another volunteer.
- Own transport NOT required as there is use of a Hospice Vehicle. Clean driving License a must.
- This is a casual role as and when there are larger items of furniture requiring collection or delivery.

This volunteer role provides a therapeutic service by working with patients and whānau through our referral, to gather information from interviews and research in order to accurately describe important life events through story telling.
Requirements:
- Gathering information from interviews & research to accurately describe important life events.
- Ability to compose a compelling & accurate account of an individual’s life.
- Comfortable being in situations where you can relate to a wide range of people who may be experiencing significant personal loss and grief.
- Any information heard, observed, or obtained during visits remain confidential and stored securely.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Specialist training will be provided for this role and ongoing support.
