BNI Blenheim shows heartfelt support for Hospice Marlborough

(Thursday, 7 September 2023)

The community spirit shines brightly as the BNI Blenheim Originals chapter continues to exemplify the essence of giving and making a real difference.

On Thursday 7 September 2023, a generous donation of $2,600, was made as a result of a weekly contribution from each of its 30+ members.  Not only was it received with immense gratitude, but it also enabled vital security enhancements at the Hospice Shops with two external security cameras installed, strengthening safety and protection for the shop team.

This contribution was made possible through the donation from BNI Blenheim Originals with the cameras installed by BNI chapter member Rod, owner of Marlborough T.V & Security Cameras Ltd.  Christine, hospice shops manager, and her team, were overwhelmed with gratitude, expressing their appreciation for this gesture of support.

The generosity of the chapter extended further with Craig, another member and owner of Signs Now NZ based in Picton, generously donating print services.  This support meant the production of a large hospice event banner that will be on display at Fabric-a-Brac on 16 September.  The banner is a welcome addition further highlighting the cause behind the event as it goes into its second year.

The Power of Givers Gain®

Behind the scenes, BNI® (Business Network International) is New Zealand’s largest referral marketing organisation. Its guiding principle is Givers Gain® – a philosophy that goes beyond networking to make an extraordinary contribution to communities across New Zealand. There are over 130 BNI business groups (known as chapters) throughout the country involving thousands of businesses, and these chapters have a long and dedicated history of raising funds for their local hospices.

Since 2007, BNI® New Zealand and Hospice NZ have proudly stood together as national partners, working together to help ensure hospice care remains free of charge for New Zealanders with a life limiting illness. The partnership has gone from strength to strength, and over $3 million has been raised for hospices nationwide thanks to BNI’s generosity and ongoing commitment to the work of Hospice.  In 2022 alone, BNI New Zealand raised an incredible $331,052 for hospices across the country, underscoring their unwavering commitment to the community’s well-being.

Hospice Marlborough cherishes its longstanding partnerships and takes this opportunity to express gratitude to the dedicated members of BNI Blenheim Originals, as well as the broader business community. This ongoing support and boundless generosity plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continued success and growth of Hospice Marlborough.
