Hospice Marlborough Welcomes Three New Team Members for 2025!

February 2025

Hospice Marlborough is thrilled to announce three new faces to the Business Support team for 2025.

Rachael Meiklejohn and Katie Wilson are our new events team for Hospice Marlborough, focusing on engaging with the wider community, coordinating events and helping to raise the much needed funds to continue our incredible specialist palliative care for the region.

Rachael has stepped in as the new Events & Engagement lead bringing a wealth of experience in event coordination, strong people skills, and is eager to get stuck in, raising awareness for Hospice Marlborough and continuing to support our mission across the community.

“I look forward to engaging with the community through our wonderful events, helping to raise awareness of all the fantastic work Hospice Marlborough do. “ says Rachael

Katie, who has always called Marlborough home has taken on the role of Communications & Events assistant, working closely with Rachael to execute events and make sure the positive message of what Hospice does, is spread far and wide. With skills in event coordination and communications, both Rachael and Katie are an asset to have on the team.

“Hospice Marlborough does the most incredible work for those in need. I am excited to be part of a team that truly makes a difference and getting our message out to the people” says Katie.

Pete Dowling is another talent to the team, recently moving to Marlborough from Nelson with his family and is a great addition as our new Accounts & Reception Administrator. Pete has an abundance of knowledge in business administration, having most recently managed the Hearing Nelson Association. Pete will be the first friendly face you’ll see when you walk through the doors here at Hospice Marlborough.

Pete – “Getting into community services at age 57, I wondered why on earth I hadn’t done it sooner! It’s such a great feeling to help the community and pass on what I’m learning to those that need it most. If I can help enhance the quality of life for our people, that’s the best job one could ask for. It’s a privilege to be here”

We are delighted to have Rachael, Katie and Pete on board with Hospice Marlborough and to continue to be part of providing specialist palliative care services across Marlborough.
